Why RoVR

At RoVR, we’re on a mission to turn practices into AI-Native, Self-Optimizing Learning Health Clinics. At RoVR, we are building a multimodal, agentic operating system to launch, manage, and scale A-LHCs nationwide. We collaborate with large health organizations as well as local physician groups, modernizing legacy operations to launch these next-generation clinics.

Central to this vision are at RoVR, autonomous agents that orchestrate and optimize clinical, administrative, and patient engagement processes. By alleviating repetitive tasks, RoVRs free providers and admins to focus on proactive decision-making guided by actionable insights, laying the groundwork for a more responsive, outcome-driven healthcare ecosystem.

By uniting clinical and operational intelligence in one cohesive platform, we're building the infrastructure for a Learning Health System that can collaborate with and empower clinicians to redefine the patient experience and transform health outcomes.

Based in the heart of NYC and backed by leading venture capital firms/visionary healthcare leaders, RoVR is on a mission to transform the future of healthcare. We are seeking mission-driven engineers, designers, and operators to join our team and help us build the foundational operating system that will drive medicine for the next century.

The Role

We are looking for a forward deployed engineer to embed with clinics and turn the way they actually work into agents that run in production. As the owner of a deployment end to end, you would lead discovery, build the integrations, configure and extend the agents for each practice, prove they work on that clinic's data, and carry the rollout through go-live and adoption. You are the trust layer between RoVR and the clinic, and what you learn in the field sets the roadmap. The work combines software engineering with the judgment to be credible with a physician owner in the morning and an engineer in the afternoon. Expect to travel to customer sites a few times a month.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery with practice owners, physicians and front-office teams: map how documents, calls, referrals, scheduling and billing actually flow, and where staff lose hours.

  • Run pilots and live demos on real customer workflows, from first meeting to production.

  • Build and configure integrations with EHRs (athenahealth, Canvas and others), fax, telephony and payer systems.

  • Configure and extend agents for each clinic (document triage, voice, referrals, authorizations), and write the evals that show they work on that clinic's data.

  • Build custom workflows and internal tools where the product does not yet reach, then work with engineering to productize them.

  • Train staff and providers, drive adoption, and own customer outcomes after go-live.

  • Bring structured feedback from the field back into the product and research roadmap.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related technical field.

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with substantial time in customer-facing, solutions or forward deployed roles.

  • Strong Python and SQL; fluent with REST APIs, webhooks and integrating unreliable third-party systems.

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs: prompting, agent workflows and evaluating output quality.

  • Ability to lead a demo, a workshop or a technical deep dive, and to write clearly for both audiences.

  • A builder's instinct for turning a repeated manual process into automation, and a bias toward shipping.

Preferred qualifications

  • Healthcare integration experience: HL7 or FHIR, RCM, X12 837/835, prior authorization.

  • Time spent working inside a clinic or practice.

  • Experience taking a custom build from one customer into a general product feature.
