Why RoVR

At RoVR, we’re on a mission to turn practices into AI-Native, Self-Optimizing Learning Health Clinics. At RoVR, we are building a multimodal, agentic operating system to launch, manage, and scale A-LHCs nationwide. We collaborate with large health organizations as well as local physician groups, modernizing legacy operations to launch these next-generation clinics.

Central to this vision are at RoVR, autonomous agents that orchestrate and optimize clinical, administrative, and patient engagement processes. By alleviating repetitive tasks, RoVRs free providers and admins to focus on proactive decision-making guided by actionable insights, laying the groundwork for a more responsive, outcome-driven healthcare ecosystem.

By uniting clinical and operational intelligence in one cohesive platform, we're building the infrastructure for a Learning Health System that can collaborate with and empower clinicians to redefine the patient experience and transform health outcomes.

Based in the heart of NYC and backed by leading venture capital firms/visionary healthcare leaders, RoVR is on a mission to transform the future of healthcare. We are seeking mission-driven engineers, designers, and operators to join our team and help us build the foundational operating system that will drive medicine for the next century.

Role Overview

Forward Deployed Engineers are how RoVR meets the way clinics actually work. You will embed with our customers (practice owners, physicians, and front-office teams) and turn their messiest workflows into agents that run in production.

You will own deployments end to end: discovery and demos, EHR and phone/fax integrations, configuring agents to each clinic's workflows, custom builds, training, and go-live. You are the trust layer between RoVR and the clinic, and the voice of the customer inside our product and engineering team. What you learn in the field shapes our roadmap.

Expect to travel to customer sites a few times a month.

What You'll Do

  • Lead discovery with clinics: map how documents, calls, referrals, scheduling, and billing really flow, and where staff lose hours.

  • Run pilots and live demos on real customer workflows, from first meeting to production.

  • Build and configure integrations with EHRs (athenahealth, Canvas, and others), fax, telephony, and payer systems.

  • Configure and extend our agents (document triage, voice, referrals, authorizations) for each clinic, and write evals that prove they work on that clinic's data.

  • Build custom workflows and internal tools when a customer needs something the product doesn't do yet, then work with engineering to productize it.

  • Train staff and providers, drive adoption, and own customer outcomes after go-live.

  • Bring structured feedback from the field back into the roadmap.

What You Have

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with real time spent in customer-facing, solutions, or forward deployed roles.

  • Strong Python and SQL; comfortable with REST APIs, webhooks, and integrating messy third-party systems.

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs: prompting, agent workflows, and evaluating output quality.

  • Executive presence: credible with a physician owner in the morning and an engineer in the afternoon.

  • Outstanding communication; comfortable leading a demo, a workshop, or a technical deep dive.

  • Bias toward action and a builder's instinct for turning a repeated manual process into automation.

  • Nice to have: healthcare experience (EHR integrations, HL7/FHIR, RCM, X12 837/835, prior auth), or time spent working inside a clinic.
